I’d like to to clarify something for those who have misunderstood me in the recent past (because I’ve been a little frustrated & rude lately). First, I absolutely respect your right to believe whatever you see fit to believe. It doesn’t matter what it is, it’s your business not mine. I hope you find comfort and peace within your beliefs. That said, I am not required to respect what you believe.
If what you believe is demonstrably false and/or potentially harmful in practice, I will absolutely oppose you if you try to spread such beliefs to others (that includes posts on Facebook). The truth matters. It isn’t about my or your opinion. The truth is what the facts are. Period. And I have run out of patience with all the bullshit floating around on the Internet and the media from both the Left and the Right.
Okay with that out of the way let’s dig into a few things. The USA specifically and the world in general are going through some significant cultural changes. The biggest issues at hand (in my opinion) are the growing opposition to religion in general, the ongoing trend of extremism within Christianity and the continuing rise of sexual diversity. And yes, they’re all closely related.
Christianity is of course the primary religion in the US. People wouldn’t have so many issues with it if Christians would just behave themselves. But they can’t seem to mind their own business. They seek to further their cause via legislation. They attempt to invade our public schools with their dogma. They inflict themselves upon the few remaining isolated indigenous peoples (more on this later) in the world and call themselves “missionaries.”
Here at home, goofballs like Kent Hovind, Tony Spell, Kenneth Copeland and Paula White rant on TV and radio about the evils of the Left or homosexuals or whomever. They subscribe to most all of the far right conspiracy theories (or just make up their own). They twist the facts of established science to suit their own agenda, or they simply deny the existence of said science. Sadly, their flocks rarely look beyond the blathering of these false prophets to see things for themselves. They just accept it. It’s willful ignorance at its worst. By the way… I didn’t alter the pic of Copeland. He actually looks that goofy.

Pastor Tony Spell
Tony Spell for example continues to claim that the Covid-19 vaccine is a Satanic plot to make humans unable to be “saved” by his Jesus because the spike protein in the vaccine alters our DNA. He claims it makes us inhuman and therefore no longer in God’s image. First, the spike proteins he refers to remain in our cells’ cytoplasm. The nuclei are not penetrated. And it is the nuclei that contains our DNA. And hey, if Jesus is truly omnipotent, He could save us regardless of whatever changes might occur in our DNA. He could save Lassie, Rin Tin Tin and Flipper if he chooses to.
By the way – Spell was also telling people to donate their Covid-19 stimulus checks to his church. Sadly, some people probably did exactly that.
And then there are the gay bashers. People like Pat Robertson routinely portray the gay community as being an aberration of nature. This of course all goes back to the passages in the Bible about how all gay folks must die because they’re nasty or whatever. Science has shown with an acceptable amount of certainty that sexual orientation is primarily a genetic predisposition, not a “choice.” But where are the biblical scholars who’ll admit this and say that perhaps the Bible needs to be updated? Heh heh heh… keep looking and let me know if you find one.
“The world today says ‘OK, so you are gay, you want to have affairs with men — that’s cool. You have an absolute right to do that, why not?’
That’s not the right attitude. The attitude is that this is sin. It’s wrong. And [this man] realized it was wrong but couldn’t control it. But that type of conduct is wrong… he is obsessed. He has a compulsion. I would think that it is somehow related to demonic possession…”
– – Pat Robertson
These people attack anything and everything that doesn’t match up with the Christian worldview. Evolution, the age of the Earth and universe, sexual orientation and so on are all subject to attack by these vicious liars. I’ve seen grown men and women stand up before an audience and claim that there is no evidence for evolution. And they do this with a straight face. Those who pay attention know that the evidence for evolution is overwhelming. There is no credible denial and most of these pastors know it. But the semi-literate masses in the congregations shout out “AMEN!!!” and “PRAISE JEEZUS!!!” as they mindlessly swallow the tripe spewing from the pulpit.
And true believers not only get conned by their pastors. A great many of the “American” Christian pages on social media are actually foreign troll farms. They don’t represent a church or any legit religious group. They want your account info, your credit card number, or if you’re lucky they just want to flood you with targeted ads. Spoiler alert: Most of the ads are bogus as well. Facebook doesn’t seem to have a huge problem with bogus ads, which I find disturbing.
Boys And Girls And…
Gender has become a prominent issue in the US and in truth I find myself agreeing with the Right on a few things. For example, if you have a penis, you’ve no business in the ladies’ room. I don’t give two shits about how you “self-identify.” If you’re a biological male, try walking into a public ladies room while my granddaughter is inside. Trust me, you’ll look different when I’m done with you.
Same goes for the girls’ shower at school. If you have a penis, you’re a guy. If you have a vagina, you’re a woman. Behave accordingly, please. If by chance you are a hermaphrodite then your life is probably quite complicated. I sincerely wish you well. I grew up knowing one such person. “He” was predominantly male and portrayed himself as being so. A good person who led an often lonely and difficult life. He didn’t have a choice in the matter.
That said, if a guy for example goes through the entire process (surgery, hormone treatments and whatever else), then that’s another story. He’s as female as science can make him (to me he’s just a guy who had his pecker chopped off but whatever). He / she still has no business playing female sports, and I will stand by that to the end.

Fallon Fox
Yes, I know transgender former MMA fighter Fallon Fox (formerly Boyd Burton) got “her” ass kicked by Ashlee Evans-Smith. I still replay that match every now and again. But Fox severely injured at least one other fighter before that. Fox still had heavier muscle mass and bone structure. Most women simply couldn’t deal with her. Evans-Smith was more solidly built than most of her peers and had superior skills. That, and she’s just plain mean. I love that woman.
Look, if you want to change your gender that’s your business. But when you adversely affect others the line has to be drawn. As the old saying goes, your right to swing your arm ends at my nose. No one lives in a vacuum.
Christians of course take a much harder line. The vast majority of Christians regard transgender people as perhaps an even worse affront to their deity than gays. They believe that everything is a gift from God. And if you attempt to change it then you’re an ungrateful sinner and an abomination before God. But that only matters if you take their dogma seriously. Of course if you don’t, then they’re convinced you’re in the express lane to Hell.
The gay and lesbian community has of course long been a target of the Christian Right. There is no shortage of hate-speak in the Bible:
Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
And lest you girls think God is okay with a little hanky panky, consider Romans Chapter 1:
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Note that the scripture refers to the “use” of a woman. This is a pretty good example of how women were regarded as being somehow “less” than men. Some truly sick stuff in the Christian Bible.
Oh those poor persecuted Christians…
Ever notice how, especially nowadays, Christians are quick to claim they’re being bullied, put upon or outright persecuted? In many Muslim nations they are in fact brutalized. But in America? It’s surely insulting to truly persecuted Christians in Muslim cultures when they see Americans claim to be persecuted. No one in America is tossing Christians in prison or executing them just because they’re Christian. Americans – at least those of white European descent – don’t know the meaning of the word “persecution.”
But take a look at what those morally superior Christians are up to nowadays. Remember reading in your history books how European settlers coming to America attempted to “save” the Natives? They destroyed the cultural heritage of the natives in their arrogant attempt to “civilize” them. Their religious beliefs were regarded as heathen and savage and missionaries coerced them into embracing Christianity. In some cases the diseases settlers brought with them nearly wiped out entire tribes. The Europeans devastated the Native Americans, and then herded the survivors off to reservations. And the reservations were nothing more than land the settlers didn’t want. Circumstances in Canada were much the same, with the natives’ culture being destroyed in favor of the invading white Christian masses.
My point? They’re still doing it. Indigenous People in Brazil have been subjected to numerous attempts at Christianization by so-called missionaries from around the world. The Christians see this as a brave and noble effort to spread the Gospel of their Lord. Truly civilized people recognize it for what it is. It is a plague that is spread by colonizing the minds of entire cultures. As of this writing the Brazilian government has finally taken proper steps to protect its Indigenous People from Christian predation. But how much damage has already been done?
As the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. And most Christians mean well even as they do so much damage. But they do not have the right to damage a world shared by others regardless of their intentions. Every single person on the planet, including Christians, has the right to their own beliefs. It is not the place of meddlesome Christians (or anyone else) to inflict their beliefs upon others. Unfortunately their Bible tells them to do exactly that:
Psalms 96:3 – Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.
Matthew 28:19 – Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
And they’ll do so even when it is forbidden by law. In some Muslim nations it is illegal to teach any religion except Islam. But brave (stupid) Christians sneak into these nations and do it anyway. And when they’re caught and punished other Christians scream about persecution. If I rob a bank and get caught and imprisoned, am I being persecuted? No. I’m being punished for breaking the law. Same principle.

John Allen Chau
Consider the case of John Chau, who at age 26 tried to “declare Jesus” to a primitive and insular tribe on North Sentinel Island. In short, they killed him. Not specifically because of his religion but because they don’t allow outsiders on the island. Chau apparently thought Jesus would protect him while he spread the Gospel to the heathens. He had been warned of the risk and did it anyway. All in the name of a nonexistent god. Chau belonged to a missionary group called “All Nations.” According to an article in The Guardian they had this to say about it:
All Nations, the evangelical organization that trained Chau, described him as a martyr. The “privilege of sharing the gospel has often involved great cost”, Dr Mary Ho, the organization’s leader, said in a statement. “We pray that John’s sacrificial efforts will bear eternal fruit in due season.”

Sentinelese man with bow
What a shame that this intelligent but deluded young man died for no reason. Then again, what a shame it is when so many Native Americans died at the hands of Christian European settlers a few centuries ago. What a shame so many Blacks were enslaved by those same white Europeans, many who believed that their god approved of the practice.
Leviticus 25:44-46 ESV — As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are around you. You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their clans that are with you, who have been born in your land, and they may be your property. You may bequeath them to your sons after you to inherit as a possession forever. You may make slaves of them, but over your brothers the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another ruthlessly.
And yet in spite of all the crimes against humanity committed in the name of the Abrahamic god Christianity, Islam and Judaism are still allowed to pillage and plunder the minds of the innocent. Once people are buried in the dogma it’s difficult to salvage them. We must take steps to protect the world’s youth from being indoctrinated if we are to ever have a chance to stop the madness. I could go on for hours here but I’m way overlong already. Apologies for rambling on (I’ve actually trimmed it down a bit). Thanks for taking the time to visit me.
