On August 20th, 2021 Haley Richardson, a wife, expectant mother and medical professional died from complications of Covid-19 – two days after the death of her unborn daughter. Her daughter was due in November. She had elected not to be vaccinated because she was uncertain as to what effects the shot might have on her baby. She leaves behind a husband and two year-old daughter. I didn’t know Haley. Never heard of her until her death was reported in the news. Think Before You Speak
Facebook is rapidly becoming a repository for dimestore philosophy, uninformed political opinions (both left and right) and truly frightening religious zealotry. It’s everywhere. And it’s worsening daily. But the more worrisome part of this is the fact that the people posting this mess aren’t just on Facebook. They’re out there in the world. They believe their own bullshit. They breed. They vote. They influence others.
Holier Than Who?
Forgive me while I rant just a little. Having grown up in a Christian (Baptist) family, I have a lot of Christian friends. Some of us debate on occasion but it’s always with respect. Okay, usually with respect. Well, mostly anyway. But a lifelong friend of our family (I’m not naming names), who is also a Baptist preacher recently posted the following on FB:
A Question For Believers
On June 8th, 2018 Carly Ann Harris of Wales drowned her four year-old daughter Amelia, then burned her body in her back yard. Harris claims she did it on God’s orders to “save all Mankind.” She has been declared not guilty by way of insanity and will likely spend the rest of her life in an asylum. This is by no means the first time a child has died at the hands of parents trying to please “God.”
Of Popes and Perverts
