I hear it and see it all the time: Christians claiming that God “tells them” or “guides them” in some way. Usually they describe it as a strong feeling from within. On social media I see all these declarations about how people want God to guide them and protect them. It’s sickening to see people abasing themselves before a non-existent tyrant in hopes of currying favor. And whether they realize it or not, that’s all they’re (you’re?) doing. Continue reading

OK, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukka and a Cheerful Winter Solstice to all. I personally decided this year to just let the whole “Holiday Season” pass me by with as little drama as possible. I’m stocked up on groceries so no need to deal with the crazy-long checkout lines at Kroger. And you can bet your butt I’m not getting anywhere near Walmart anytime soon. 
It’s November and here we go again. Every time the holiday season rolls around arrogant, uninformed Christians start insisting that “Jesus is the reason for the season.” Here and now, fully a week before Thanksgiving, I’m seeing memes on Facebook about “It’s Merry Christmas, not Happy Holidays.” They seem to not notice that there are THREE holidays coming up. Can I not wish you happiness for all three? Or am I supposed to itemize a list? WTF do you people expect?! 
Most of us from time to time speculate on what we’d do if we were in a particular situation. Like if we won the lottery, or was elected President or whatever else. But what if you had the ultimate job? What if the Universe was yours to play with? 
One of the most irksome things (to me at least) about the Abrahamic religions is its deeply-rooted misogyny. These religions started out dominated by men, and women ended up being the scapegoats for all of man’s weaknesses. Eve supposedly tempted Adam in the garden, so the fall of humanity and the expulsion from the Garden must be the fault of women. And never mind the fact that sex and immodesty were considered taboo. Once Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, they straightaway stitched some fig leaves together to cover themselves. How the heck is it wrong for a husband and wife to see each other naked? 
I am amazed at the absurdities I’m seeing from both the Left and the Right. How did humanity get to a point in which gender is a matter of preference? 
I am so tired of American Christians and their self-important nonsense. If they’d actually study their bibles instead of just assuming everything their pastors tell them is true, they’d likely reach the same conclusion that I reached years ago. The Bible is a book of filth, violence, misogyny and vulgarity. And most importantly, there’s little truth to be found within it. One only needs apply bit of common sense to most of the Bible’s stories to see just how impossible they are.
