Absurdity, Insanity, Or Both?

I am so tired of American Christians and their self-important nonsense. If they’d actually study their bibles instead of just assuming everything their pastors tell them is true, they’d likely reach the same conclusion that I reached years ago. The Bible is a book of filth, violence, misogyny and vulgarity. And most importantly, there’s little truth to be found within it. One only needs apply bit of common sense to most of the Bible’s stories to see just how impossible they are.

But that isn’t what’s on my mind today. It’s not the stories, but rather the silly shit that believers do because they believe those stories. Let’s look at a few of the more recent and ongoing insults to humanity’s intelligence:

School Prayer Walks
This is so dumb. Scores of people wandering around the halls and classrooms of a public school, babbling away at their nonexistent God. And they actually believe that this somehow will have a positive effect upon the coming school year. I’m so glad I wasn’t there to see it happening. The photos are painful enough.

Evicting Barbie
Those familiar with pastor Greg Locke already know what a nutsack he is. But have you seen him wrecking a Barbie house onstage? He rants and raves about demons, and then somehow connects said demons to a Barbie fun house he’s assembled onstage. He had a baseball bat with a Bible taped to the business end, and used it to smash the little house to bits. Seriously y’all, this guy is bug-eyed insane. He must be. There’s video should you care to watch him demolish Barbie’s house.

High Water
Even with all the evidence against it, many Christians still insist that the story of Noah’s Ark and the Great Flood is true. This represents a complete abandonment of common sense. The geological, archaeological, meteorological and anthropological evidence against there ever having been a global flood is overwhelming. But Christians would rather believe a book written by primitive men who didn’t know where the sun went at night. Willful ignorance is the worst kind of ignorance, imo.

Just Pray To Get Better
All over America, various Christian cults practice “faith healing” instead of proper medical treatment. I guess that’s OK for adults who choose faith over medical expertise. But what about their children? From Pennsylvania to Washington there have been numerous cases of young children dying in misery because their parents were too stupid to take them to a doctor. It’s been going for years and it’s not likely to stop anytime soon. All in the name of “religious freedom.” It’s just sick.

Donald Trump: The New Messiah
OK maybe the election was stolen by Biden, maybe not. The bottom line is that Joe Biden, not Donald Trump is our President. I don’t like it because he’s driven America into the ground. Biden must go. But what about these religious crazies who still insist that Trump is actually the “true” president? The January 6th riots were largely instigated by these zealots. Reality isn’t always what we want it to be, but it’s always real. Nevertheless, these people continue to go public with various “prophicies” that never come true. But people keep listening. And they keep believing. This is an unprecedented level of stupid. And it’s dangerous.

I’d vote for insanity. If any of this was done for some new cult, there would be no problem in calling it insane, but since it’s part of some “sad devotion to that ancient religion” many people try to excuse it.
