Regarding Punishment and Morality

Let’s pretend for a moment that the Christian god is real. Consider this:

> Yahweh drowned every air-breathing life on Earth except those floating in an impossible wooden box.
> He fire-bombed Sodom and Gomorrah.
> He murdered countless children during the so-called Passover.
> He sent a bear to maul a group of children for picking on a bald guy.
> He favors chattel slavery and instructed the Jews in how to buy and sell them.
> He unleashed Joshua’s armies against the Canaanites, murdering the men and enslaving the women and children.
> And… He’ll send you to an eternity in Hell just for not believing He’s real.

And yet every Sunday you Christians flock to whatever church that best fits you preferred interpretation of your preferred translation of the Bible. You feel righteous. You feel moral. You feel safe.

Meanwhile, horrifying bloodshed is taking place all over the world in the name of yours and other religions. Children are starving to death every day by the thousands, when the wealth contained within the Vatican alone could feed them.

All the while you sit back and clutch your precious Bible to your chest as if it can shield you from your culpability in the slow but steady downfall of humanity.

But there are no gods. The evils done supposedly by your god are actually being done by YOU. As long as you continue to hold to so-called “Biblical values” the carnage will continue. Do you possess the wherewithal to rise above the ancient horrors of the past and do what’s right?

If so then you are of a higher moral caliber than your imaginary tyrant god. If not, then you are no better than He is.

Very good questions for the non-thinking crowd. The best part of all this is that none of it is true! All the stories of the “Conquest” and basically anything earlier than Solomon & David is pure fantasy; all mythology made-up out of thin air by the mindless theist class! I love that! Phony events, phony “god”!
