A lot of Christians are babbling on social media that the California fires and the extreme winter weather are a part of God’s punishment for various offenses against God. People, fire happens. Weather happens. Some of the fires are suspected arson attacks. One is believed to be the result of an Edison powerline getting knocked down by the Santa Ana winds. These winds create extreme hot and dry conditions and as such raise the fire hazards dramatically. The extreme cold on the way is not a unique event.
